Benevolent Sewing Group
2nd Tuesday of each month, except July and August
9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
More than 25 years ago, the Benevolent Sewing Group began making neck pillow and lap robes for a hospital in Fort Worth, TX. Later, under the sewing leadership of Mary Murphy, the group began sewing items for the children at Inman Christian Center exclusively.
We have a different leader now, but still make quilts, pants, shorts, dresses, boys and girls pajamas, two varieties of bibs, T-shirts, girls panties, and sweat suits.

God has lead many generous people to donate fabric for the sewers to make all of the clothes, bibs, and quilts. We meet on the second floor of the church, in the Mary Murphy Sewing room, which was dedicated in 2008.
We start working at 9:00 a.m. on the second Tuesday of every month, except July and August. We usually wind up around 11:30 and our minister, Nelson Torres, is really nice to take all of us on the church bus somewhere for Dutch lunch. When we get back, all of the clothes are loaded up and delivered to Inman Christian Center.
The sewing door is always open and we welcome anyone who would like to join us. If you sew that is great, but if you don't there is always a job to be done. We have a lot of fun working for the Lord. Please come!
